TAFIYAR MATASAN AREWA
Building a united, empowered and progressive generation of Northern Nigerian youth, across 19 states and the FCT.

A united, organised youth movement
Tafiyar Matasan Arewa brings young people, women and community groups together across the 19 Northern states and the FCT. Every group keeps its own name and leaders. Together we speak with one voice, peacefully and lawfully.

- Evidence-led assessment of public policies and political decisions.
- Respect for pluralism: members and partners may hold different political views.

Building strong partnerships for greater impact
More than 180 organisations have already joined us, and talks continue with many more, each at its own stage. The list below shows some of them; it is not the full list of 180+ organisations.
Partnership with educational institutions and faith leaders
We work with Islamiyya schools, Qur’an memorisation schools, schools for married women, imams, churches, pastors and many community leaders across Northern Nigeria. We do not publish some of these partners’ names or photographs on social media out of respect for religious institutions, scholars and community leaders. We respect every faith and approach these relationships with dignity and mutual understanding.
Organisations in discussion
We are in discussions with many additional youth, women’s, student, community, professional and faith-based organisations at different stages. Discussions do not mean an agreement has been finalised. Each organisation retains its own name, leadership and identity.
Governance, structure and accountability
The movement is organised through national leadership, zonal coordination, state coordination and participating partner organisations. Each participating organisation retains its own legal identity and leadership.
Leadership responsibilities
National officers provide strategic direction, coordinate programmes, maintain institutional records and communicate approved decisions.
Consultation and representation
State and zonal structures provide feedback from members and communities. Partner organisations are consulted on shared initiatives without surrendering their independence.
Accountability
Official statements, programme updates and published figures should be attributable to an authorised office and dated. Material corrections will be made transparently.
Independent voice on issues affecting our people
Tafiyar Matasan Arewa may issue statements, policy positions and election-related commentary on education, employment, security, economic opportunity, inclusion, governance and other matters of public interest. Views are those of the movement when formally authorised; they should not automatically be attributed to every member or partner.
